Why do they send a fire truck when you call for an ambulance?

My husband passed out at my son’s little league baseball game. We called for an ambulance, which came, but they also sent a fire truck! The kids loved it, but I’m wondering why a fire truck came with the ambulance???

It is for safety reasons for all concerned. Sometimes the Ambulance needs the help of the firemen. Additional hands and often the Jaws of Life
need to be used. When a call comes in, they never know exactly what will be needed. So be thankful for all of the help offered in your direction.
