how do you get straight into REM sleep when you wake up in the middle of the night?

I mean I have this hobbie called lucid dreaming where you can enter your dreams and know you are dreaming.

i dont think REM is that predictable… i know it happens around a hour and a half after the inital sleep has started but how you wake up in it is beoynd me!
