A question about defrosting chicken?
OK I have a slight problem. I am currently learning how to cook so I’m sorry if it’s a dumb Q.
I brought a frozen sealed packet of 8 skinless boneless chicken breasts. It KINDA looks like this. on ly really tightly air-sealed: http://www.freshdirect.com/media/images/product/meat/chicken/breast/chxbrt_spt_ls_pk_a_p.jpg
I only want to use 4 of the chicken breasts tomorrow but I can’t separate them from each other because they are frozen ROCK SOLID. and at the same time I’ve been told that I can’t re-freeze defrosted chicken, so I can’t defrost them all in the fridge, take the ones I want out and then put back the rest in the freezer, that could be dangerous, no?
What would you do in my case? D:
You can defrost them in the fridge, separate out the four you need and use the other four within a day. Or save yourself some trouble and cook them all at the same time. Maybe prep the other four in pot pies, bake them and freeze them for on-the-go meals later on.
